Dihydrocodeine

Dihydrocodeine is a strong painkiller from the opioid family. It’s made from codeine and works by blocking pain signals in your brain and spinal cord, helping you feel less pain. Your doctor may prescribe it for moderate to severe pain when milder medicines like paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin aren’t enough. This could be after an operation, a serious injury, or for ongoing pain from conditions like arthritis or cancer. The main ingredient is dihydrocodeine tartrate.
